Swiss Army Knife as a Survival Kit

Swiss Army KnifeBy no means this post suggests that a simple Swiss Army Knife should or could not replace your real home, car or office survival kit. Having said that, you would be amazed at what you could do with just a little Swiss Army Knife; that is unless it gets taken away from you J (Shameless STAPLES Center in Los Angeles took one off my key chain!!)

People have carried and used Swiss army knives with them for numerous years. The key of course is the same as with any survival kit and it is that the kit be available with you when disaster strikes. In many life-threatening situations, tools are often necessary and one of the most useful ones is the Swiss Army Knife. While carrying a survival knife as means to preparedness is a no brainer and is actually something that many people do, adding some basic tool options included with the Swiss Army knife allows you to be much better equipped to deal with many emergencies.  Knives, can-openers, scissors and tweezers are some of the tools included.

Swiss Army Knives are not only useful in an emergency situation, but also come in very handy in your day-to-day life. That is actually what caused me to write this article because unfortunately today I ended up in a situation where I had locked my child and myself out of my house. Fortunately, I had a Swiss Army Knife in my purse, which I promptly used to pop-out the screen on a small window, and let my four year old go in and open the door for me from inside.

Swiss Army Knives are great, however, as I always say to my friends and family: The best knife is the one that you have with you. If you don’t have one, you better hurry and get one – you never know when you’re going to need one.
